Coronavirus Pandemic Resource Guide for New Jerseyans from Senator Cory Booker's office, summarizes the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act and what it means for New Jerseyans (direct payments are available to 80% of NJ families); resources for small businesses; information on unemployment insurance and paid leave; resources for veterans, the at-risk and elderly; and other invaluable information critical to all who live and work in our state.

Food Assistance and Other Aid

  • Apply for Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

  • Latest updates on SNAP, Work First New Jersey, and WIC from the NJ Department of Family Services Division of Family Development.

  • Bergen County residents without minor children can apply for financial assistance with the Bergen County Board of Social Services.

  • For food assistance for seniors, contact the Bergen County Northwest Senior Activity Center Monday-Friday from 9:30-3:30 at (201) 445-5690.

  • Bergen County United Way can be reached online and by dialing 211. 

  • Ridgewood Social Services offers help to residents of Ridgewood, Glen Rock, Midland Park, Ho-Ho-Kus, Waldwick, and Wyckoff. 

  • Community Food Bank of NJ can help with SNAP.

  • Information on local food pantries from Bergenvolunteers.org.
