RPL is proud to be an official testing center for Northstar, offering access to their high quality, nationwide certificate program for digital skills.

Want to know if a computer class is right for you? These FREE Northstar assessments make it easy.

Simply follow these steps and you'll be ready to go:

  1. Click on the logo to go to Northstar's website​​ OR go to digitalliteracyassessment.org, select the green Take an Assessment button and Type in the Location code (RRNR)​

  2. Enter your First and Last name

    1. If want to save your score and access practice modules, email erosner@ridgewoodlibrary.org to set up a Learner's account​

  3. Select the assessment you want to take

Looking to earn a certificate?

Certificates are a great way to display and document your digital skills for potential or current employers. These can be earned only via proctored assessments at testing locations such as the Ridgewood Library.

One to One Computer Instruction

 

Personalized computer instruction is offered virtually or safely distanced in person at the library for day or evening instruction on computer or technology topics of your choice.

Ridgewood Residents: $35/hour 

Visitors: $50/hour

Habernickel Technology Training Center

(Physical location currenly unavailable to the public)

The Ridgewood Public Library offers popular computer classes in our state-of-the-art Habernickel Technology Training Center located on the second floor. The Center includes 8 individual student computers, an instructor’s workstation and is equipped with a projected interactive screen designed to facilitate optimum learning.
 

We offer a wide range of classes for PC beginners to advanced learner on Windows 10/macOS Basics, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Resume/LinkedIn Workshops.

Drop-in Tech Labs (Currently on Pause)
Tuesdays, 10-11am & 4-5pm

Library volunteers can help answer your computer, tablet, phone, or general technology questions.

Bring your tablet, phone, or laptop for best result.

Open Labs (Currenly on hold)

Ridgewood patrons are welcome to study on their own during open labs. Our Macs have both Apple (macOS) and Microsoft (Windows 10) operating systems, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat & more), Microsoft Office Suite (2016) and of course, fast internet!
