The Ridgewood Library is pleased to announced the introduction of free wireless internet access to all library patrons, made possible by a grant from the Ridgewood Public Library Foundation. There are access points located throughout the library.
What do I need to access the Ridgewood Library Wireless network?
To access our wireless network, you will need a portable computer with a wireless network adapter. You can use either a Macintosh or a PC. If you are using a PC, it is preferable to use Windows XP. Other versions will work, but we do not offer instructions on how to connect using older versions.
What areas of the Library are designated as "wireless hotspots"?
The Library has almost complete access coverage. Only the Children's room on the first floor and the Ridgewood Room on the third floor (non-fiction section) do not have coverage.
Do I have to register for Wireless access?
No registration is required. Once you have entered into the library, you are free to use your own portable computer to connect to our network.
Is the Network Secure?
In order to provide free and open access to the public, the Ridgewood Library offers an unsecure Wireless Network. The network is used at your own risk. The Library is not responsible for virus infections, spyware, or intercepted information.
How Do I connect?
Connecting to our network is simple. Instructions for connecting to the Ridgewood Library Wireless network are included in the links below.
Connecting with a Macintosh (OSX)
Connecting with a PC (Windows XP)
