It is unusual to find a stone house surviving in a business area. This one was built around 1789 and has been altered through the years to satisfy its uses as a home, a hospital, and now a retail site. Dr. William Vroom was the physician who arrived in 1888 and established a medical practice and a small hospital here. Parrillo, V., et.al. Ridgewood: Images of America, 1999 |
