The David Ackerman House is one of the oldest stone houses in Ridgewood, built ca. 1755. The stone houses are noted for their use of red sandstone and for the "sweep" of the roofline (or, in other cases, the use of a gambrel roof.) Parrillo, V., et.al. Ridgewood: Images of America, 1999. |
