Amina Ahmed

“My work is based on the principles of ‘Sacred Geometry’, a universal language that permeates all living things. The circle, square and triangle, trees, weeds and roots are continual themes in my work. I am beholden to nature; how it is realized, revealed, unknown and sometimes hidden within and without us”. Amina received an MA at Royal College of Art, attended the Chelsea School of Art Foundation, Derbyshire University and achieved BA Honors at the Winchester School of Art Advanced entry. She has exhibited both in London and in the U.S. and many of her works are in private collections throughout the world.

Mary Zisk

“Raised in Ridgewood, I returned to the Village in 1993. I’ve been a graphic designer for over 35 years, art directing various magazines including Art & Antiques and PC Magazine. But my true love is painting. Over the years, I’ve traveled many miles, painting and sketching in many countries and the walls of my home have become a scrapbook of my travel art. In 1994 I adopted my daughter Anna from Russia. Those life changing events lead me to write and illustrate my first children’s book. I finally had a unique story to tell.”

Bernard Spitz

“I began making pottery in 1989, shortly after retiring from a corporate job. My interest is functional pottery, where the form and its function are as one. The glaze selected has to fit the piece and not overwhelm it, so the user should find the piece both visually appealing and functional. A mug should be beautiful, yet still fit your hand and be inviting to drink from. I am constantly pushing my work just a bit beyond my comfort level and I feel very strongly that one cannot be afraid to fail. Every ‘mistake’ is a wonderful learning experience.”
