Materials Available
ESL books, manuals, test booklets, audio and video tape sets, dictionaries and newspapers can be found on the second level of the library. Materials marked Reference are available for the library only. Tutors may copy necessary materials at no charge by asking at the Reference desk for a key to the copier. Videos may be checked out for one week. All other matierials may be checked out for a two week period.


Tutor Commitment
Upon entering the ESL Tutor Program, Tutors agree to:

-Tutor assigned student(s) a minimum of one an one-half hours a week for one year.
-Exchange names and phone numbers with student(s) and arrange for communication in cases of absence, tardiness, etc.
-Notify ESL Coordinator if not meeting regularly with student or if meeting days and times change.
-Notify ESL Coordinator if any tutor/student difficulties arise.
-Record lesson day, time and attendance in ESL notebook at Reference.
-Sign out borrowed materials and return promptly.
-Reserve Literacy Room in advance for tutoring sessions and cancel when needed.
-Provide informal assessment at the end of the year on a form provided.
